GENERIC NAME: ANESTHESIA BREATHING CIRCUIT

INTENDED USE: An assembly of devices designed to conduct medical gases from the fresh gas supply outlet of an anesthesia unit/workstation to the patient.

 

SPECIFICATION:

Purpose: The Jackson Rees Circuit is used in anesthesiology to deliver inhalational anesthetics and oxygen to patients, typically infants and children. It is a modification of the Mapleson F system.

Components:

  • Reservoir Bag: Typically, a 500-1000 mL bag used to store excess gas with valve.
  • Rubber Tubing: A tube that connects to the anesthetic machine.
  • Mask or Endotracheal Tube: Interfaces with the patient’s airway for gas delivery.
  • Connector: Facilitates the attachment of the circuit to the anesthetic machine and the patient.

Materials: Medical-grade plastic, rubber, designed to be lightweight
